I should have done it earlier or something, but anyway, disclaimer, my profile name (Copanel-CP) has that "CP" reffering to Club Penguin because at that time of making the account I had a Club Penguin phase, plus my penguin OC is tied to Club Penguin. The recent years however I noticed another meaning for the CP abreviation that is more used nowadays and it's for more serious, horrifying kind of stuff (reffering to NSFW stuff with.... children, I just don't know anymore if I can say the exact terms out loud here or not). And whenever I hear cases of that CP from different people I just get so disgusted, so angry at these criminals, my thoughts go to "hopefully they get detained to jail and get therapy and be distanced from society" (though I wonder what kind of therapy works here because it's something very specific) Anyway, another diclaimer, if I put nsfw stuff (the sexual stuff) it's gonna be with adult characters only, that's it. (the one about gore, wounds and such is more blurred regarding limits, still I'd keep the worse parts for adult characters). It may sound reduntant, but as far as I'm aware there are plenty of people on the internet who take stuff out of context or don't do much research regarding people and just accuse folks for things they never did and dramas start and worse. And it takes a toll for mental health generally speaking. So I just had to clarify while at the same time preserve some of my mental health safe.
So there's that. ^v^;
Edit (7/22/2023): I'm gonna add some details below for further reading. Alright, so something happened recently, I was kinda in a job hunting (a bit pressured by my peers) and eventually I got to be in an interview and then I got hired. Something related to what I studied at university. Which poggers! And since I already have some time since I began to work I realised that my free time got reduced (there is some time consumed by the travel forth and back from job), sooooo..... It's gonna take a while to draw. But who knows, sometimes I am getting days when I can draw faster. But yeah, there is that.
So... already two weeks withing the job. Physical side seems quite good, I actually do it quite well. But then I noticed something. I don't really vibe with the coworkers, so I'm mostly quiet, they drain my social energy (just by sitting with them around, literally, I mean focusing on what they talk does require some energy, right?) and sometimes give me sensory overload during breaks.
And I was right about keeping myself safe, I just notice some weird stuff being discussed by some of them, like a transphobic comment and another thing about a referendum about "sexual reset", which... wtf? First time hearing about this term for real. Unfortunately Romania is dealing with a lot of cases of uninformed people about topics such as LGBTQ+, racism, overall xenophobia in general (about other stuff such as belief, ethnicity, disabilities etc.), mostly because there's lack of education in the school system. Why? It's a lot of reasons, plenty of which are caused by most part conservative nationalist Christian folks (at least here, there can be conservatives of other beliefs as well, for sure, overall better just call out the toxic behaviour when it's possible AND you are in a somewhat safe). These things put me off regarding conversing with the coworkers because I literally cannot know how they would react, it doesn't feel safe, unfortunately. So... yeah. I'll try to keep my personal stuff away from them or something like that.
Alright, after what happened I got some info of other artists who researched about what deviantART is trying to implement now, it's giving a new option to protect the art from being used by third party AI services and more and it may need some time to be fully implemented, but the folks from the team who are on Twitter didn't communicate it properly, hence the backlash. Due to the mistake some people don't trust these decisions that much, understandable, I am somehow on the "wait and see" side because who knows what may it be revealed. I'll leave the older comment before the new info was spread to let you see my confused, worried recent past self, too. ^v^; I admit that regarding art community discussions I end up getting exhausted on searching up something deeper and with the current real life stuff happening it's even trickier. ___________________________________________________________________________
Excuse me??? https://twitter.com/arvalis/status/1591131133647126528
I already heard about the mess with Twitter with the checkmark thing and how is screwing up artists and then this deviantART thing... Like... couldn't the staff implement the AI program without requiring to take all the art from the site as database? The reasons why this is wrong in the current state, among the property and copyright of the people who made and comissioned the art, is also that between the art pieces there is stuff that literally breaks the ToS (I'm talking about some cases of art that showcase that the respective users need therapy for how terrifying and worrysome it is, giving some examples I heard from documented videos on Youtube about this cursed side of the site: some fetish art related to deaths of people and.... romanticisation of dictators of strict rregimes that commited atrocities to human kind - this type of terrifying).
Now I feel... very worried in general.
Edit: I edited a bit in the text because my phrasing was weird and I didn't want to create some off misunderstandings. ^v^; Hello, it has been a while since I have posted any journal/update thing here, though I wanted to share my thoughts about my mindset and how it changed regarding art and such.
I remember back in the day when I joined deviantART and later on I might felt off by mature content stuff and I preferred to avoid it rightaway (though I did get to see some stuff by curiosity or by accident) and most of the time I wanted to post mostly SFW art. Even after reaching the age of 18 I was still feeling a bit uncomfortable about NSFW stuff until some recent years when thanks to some of my friends I realised that it's alright to like and do NSFW art as long as these don't go on the illegal side - and I'll definetly avoid to do this illegal stuff. Before that I was a very pudic person who also grew in an environement where it was considered that seeing nsfw stuff or voilent things and also some stuff that should be considered normal are seen as taboo (with some religious stuff added there, too, but like with bad influence). But then I grew up and learned about many things and also about how to handle NSFW stuff so I don't have to worry much about it anymore. Also since at some point I began doing some vent art stuff here that also have some blood and gore it made me think about a little change of what I will post here. So I will still post SFW art here, but I may also put some NSFW stuff, too (only the ones that respect the ToS of this site), and putting filters for them fittingly, so no worries about accidentally seeing some uncomfortable art (that being said I began adding mature filters for things that are triggering with blood and gore).
That being said I hope you understand and no worries about not wanting to see the nsfw stuff, each person has their preference and it's perfectly fine, and take care! :D
P.S.: I really want to make sure about he mature filter being on because I saw way too many times in the past years by accident some odd stuff that should have been with the filter because either these were nsfw or have nsfw connotations annnd yeah... ^v^;
